Journeyman Plumber
Compensation
$25-$30 + SIGN ON BONUS
Description
Must have ability to install water supply distribution piping.
Uponor,PEX,copper,PVC,C900,galvanized screw pipe and ductal iron.
Must have ability to repair. Install and repair retrofit ground drain, waste, and vent piping.
Must have ability to install poly ethylene gas and galvanized piping.
Must have ability to operate sewer snake, sewer camera, and threading machine.
Operates hand and power tools associated with the plumbing trade.
Installs, cleans and repairs water and waste lines to a wide variety of equipment.
Installs, repairs and periodically tests valves, sump pumps, water circulators and backflow preventers.
Installs, cleans and repairs underground water and sewage piping.
Installs and repairs piping for gas, air, and vacuum.
Requisitions supplies and material from stockroom, and orders from vendors.
Able to read blueprints and piping diagram.
Must have the ability to perform service for urinals, water closets, water heaters, water fountains and any and all commercial plumbing fixtures.
Supervises plumber helper during portion of work week.
Perform other related duties for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
Work Conditions
Journeyman Plumbers may work outdoors in all types of weather; lift and carry heavy objects; work under exposure to heavy traffic, high noise levels, etc.; may work varied shifts, nights, weekends and holidays; and may work with or be exposed to hazardous materials or chemicals.
Certification & Licenses:
Current Texas Journeyman Plumbers License TWIC Minimum 3 years' experience Successful completion of continued education toward Plumbing Trade Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen. Complete the following trainings as required: HASC Basic Plus, Forklift & Aerial Lift Safety Awareness, lock out tag out, fall arrest, confined space, MSDS, asbestos and lead identification, ladder safety, emergency evacuation, OSHA and respirator training.
Requirements
Must possess water backflow or sprinkler inspection experience.
Specialized knowledge to analyze and solve complex problems.
Mental and visual effort required due to continuous, concentrated mental and visual effort to plan and perform complex work.
Knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations.
Ability to work in a team setting.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
Preparing and maintaining accurate records.
Ability to promote and follow policies and procedures.
Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating equipment used in the installation, repair and maintenance on plumbing equipment.
Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with all people including those from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds.
