Heat Pump Repair & Replacement in League City, TX

Heat pumps handle both cooling and heating, so they run nearly year round on the Gulf Coast. K.R. Allen Services repairs, maintains and replaces heat pumps for commercial buildings and homes across League City, Dickinson, Webster, Friendswood, Texas City, Galveston and the Houston Bay Area.

Heat Pump Repair

Call us if your heat pump blows cool air in heating mode, won't switch between heating and cooling, ices up, runs constantly or makes grinding or rattling noises. We diagnose reversing valves, defrost controls, compressors, capacitors, refrigerant leaks and communicating controls, then give you clear options and pricing before any work starts.

Heat Pump Replacement & Installation

When a heat pump is past its service life or repairs no longer make sense, we size and install a new system to match your building, including high-efficiency and variable-speed models and systems using the newer A2L refrigerants. We remove the old equipment, set and charge the new system, and check airflow and controls so it runs the way it was designed to.

Commercial Heat Pump Service

We service packaged heat pumps, split systems and water-source heat pumps in offices, retail, multi-tenant buildings and light industrial facilities, and can add them to a planned maintenance schedule or General Service Agreement.

Repair or Replace?

If your heat pump is more than 10 to 15 years old, needs a compressor, or uses R-22 refrigerant, replacement is often the better investment. We'll give you an honest comparison of both options.

Heat Pump FAQs

Why is my heat pump blowing cool air in heating mode?

It may be in a normal defrost cycle, but if it keeps happening the cause is often a bad reversing valve, defrost control, low refrigerant or a thermostat setting problem.

Is it normal for a heat pump to ice up?

A light frost in cold, damp weather is normal and the defrost cycle should clear it. A unit covered in thick ice, or icing in summer, needs service.

How often should a heat pump be serviced?

Twice a year, before the cooling and heating seasons, because heat pumps run nearly year round on the Gulf Coast.

How long does a heat pump last?

Most heat pumps last about 10 to 15 years. In our coastal climate, regular maintenance and coil cleaning help them reach the upper end of that range.

What areas do you serve?

League City, Dickinson, Kemah, Webster, Friendswood, Texas City, Galveston and the rest of the Houston Bay Area.

Are you licensed?
